Are you a licensed and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) looking for a highly flexible, part-time opportunity to support high school students? Our innovative math and science-focused school in Hopkins, MN, is seeking an SLP to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year!
About Our School: We are a unique high school that emphasizes Math and Science, providing our 9th-12th grade students with the opportunity to earn transferable college credits for their post-secondary education. We pride ourselves on preparing students for STEM careers and higher learning, fostering critical thinking and advanced academic skills.
The Role: As our part-time SLP, you will provide specialized speech and language services to our high school students. This role is crucial in supporting students' communication skills, which are fundamental to their academic success in complex subjects and their future post-secondary endeavors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for high school students to identify communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with measurable goals for speech and language services.
- Provide direct therapy services (individual or group) targeting articulation, fluency, voice, language comprehension, expression, and pragmatic language skills.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and school staff regarding communication strategies to support students' academic and social participation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the special education team.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of services and student progress.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current and valid Minnesota Speech-Language Pathologist License is required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred, but CFY candidates will be considered.
- Experience working with high school-aged students (grades 9-12) is preferred.
- Understanding of how communication skills impact learning in STEM fields.
- Strong assessment, intervention, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
