Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist seeking a full-time, in-person opportunity to make a difference in students' lives? We are actively seeking a highly qualified SLP to join our team for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year in the vibrant Highland, Michigan area. This is a chance to provide comprehensive speech and language services within a supportive school environment, contributing directly to the academic and social success of our students.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Conducting thorough in-person speech and language evaluations for students across various grade levels (specific caseload details will be discussed during the interview process).
- Developing, writing, and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and evidence-based therapy plans to address a wide range of communication disorders, including but not limited to articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, and social communication.
- Providing direct, in-person therapy services to students in individual, small group, and classroom-based settings.
- Collaborating effectively and consistently with general and special education teachers, parents, school psychologists, and other multidisciplinary team members to integrate communication goals into the educational curriculum.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of evaluations, progress notes, IEPs, and all other required reports.
- Participating actively in IEP meetings, providing clinical insights and recommendations.
- Adapting therapy activities and strategies to suit the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
- Staying current with best practices, research, and advancements in school-based speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid and active Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of Michigan is REQUIRED.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred.
- Prior experience working as an SLP in a school-based setting is desirable.
- Strong understanding of the IEP process, special education law, and school-based service delivery models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A genuine commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments and empowering students to reach their full communication potential.
