School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - High Point, North Carolina

A licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought for a contract position supporting K-12 students in a public school setting located in High Point, NC. This role involves assisting students with special communicative needs to improve articulation, language, voice, and fluency in alignment with their age and cognitive abilities. The position offers a contract assignment through January 31, 2026, with a weekly schedule of 25-30 hours, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate speech-language programs to meet student needs while collaborating with educational staff and families.
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and diagnose speech-language impairments; provide recommendations for services and support.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.
- Manage therapy sessions using appropriate methods and tools, ensuring effective resource utilization.
- Maintain accurate documentation and Medicaid billing for eligible students via the designated software.
- Serve as a liaison by consulting, referring, and applying current research to optimize service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active North Carolina license (G License) issued by the Department of Public Instruction.
- Experience with ECATS and Infinite Campus systems is required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred.
- Previous work in Exceptional Children’s Preschool Handicapped programs is highly desired.
- No Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) currently available for support.
- Ability to work onsite full-time.
This position offers an opportunity to impact students’ communication skills significantly while working with a collaborative educational team. The role reports to school principals and the Exceptional Children’s program leadership.
