Speech Language Pathologist in Hazel Green, AL
This opportunity is perfect for licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) with experience in school settings and a passion for supporting PreK-8th grade students. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) in a school located in Hazel Green, AL, with a contract extending from ASAP or the start of the January semester through May 22, 2026.
Responsibilities include delivering direct therapy services Monday through Thursday and dedicating Fridays to assessments. The caseload currently stands at 58 students, with approximately nine at the primary level. Therapy time and caseload distribution are collaboratively managed between two SLPs working together without a lead clinician’s involvement. The school day begins at 7:45 am CST, and para support is available to assist with bringing students to therapy rooms. The schedule is well-established and provides consistency throughout the school week.
Ideal candidates will have:
- An active Alabama SLP license and familiarity with Alabama state laws related to speech therapy in schools
- Experience working in both in-person and virtual school therapy settings
- Knowledge of case management and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), preferably with PowerSchool experience
- Ability to effectively manage a substantial caseload and collaborate with fellow speech therapists
- Strong organizational skills, especially for assessments and therapy planning
