School Speech Therapist - Hayward, California
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is needed to cover a medical leave in Hayward, CA. This contract position supports two school sites, including an elementary and a middle school.
The position requires managing a caseload of up to 55 students, with a current caseload around 48. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week. The assignment is expected to last through the end of February, with a potential extension depending on the employee’s recovery timeline.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license with CCC credential
- Experience working in school settings, preferably with elementary and middle school students
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload of speech and language therapy students
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and provide evidence-based therapy to students
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs to meet students’ needs
- Communicate progress and collaborate with educational staff and families
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Adapt therapy plans to accommodate a diverse student population
