Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Maternity Leave Coverage

Position Overview:
A local school district in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide maternity leave coverage during the 2025–2026 school year. This is a temporary, full-time position with an active caseload, offering the opportunity to work as part of a dedicated student services team in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The role involves direct therapy, evaluations, and IEP management across a range of grade levels (specific assignment will be confirmed during the interview process).
Key Responsibilities:

Provide speech-language therapy services aligned with students’ IEP goals

Conduct speech and language assessments and contribute to eligibility reports

Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals

Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
-
Communicate regularly with families, teachers, and support staff
Assignment Details:

Start Date: Early November 2025

End Date: Approximately April 2026

Full caseload assigned upon onboarding

Grade levels and school site(s) to be determined based on need
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Valid Mississippi Speech-Language Pathology license (or eligibility to obtain)

MS Department of Education SLP Endorsement (or ability to obtain)
-
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; CFs with strong school-based practicum experience may be considered

Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
-
Experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior school-based SLP experience
-
Familiarity with IDEA compliance, IEP software, and school-based documentation

Knowledge of AAC tools and interventions (optional)
