School Speech and Language Pathologist | Hartford, Connecticut
Providing specialized speech-language therapy services for students in Hartford, CT, this contract position requires in-person commitment from now until June 10, 2025. Working primarily with pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students, you will support their speech and language development across two school sites. This role offers a 35-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver individualized speech-language therapy focusing on assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language development delays. • Conduct diagnostic and evaluation assessments appropriate for student needs. • Prepare clear, comprehensive reports based on student assessments and observations. • Develop, review, and maintain IEP objectives tailored to student progress. • Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents, peers, and educational staff to track and support student developmental goals.
Qualifications: • Must hold or be eligible to hold a Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) license and a teaching certificate from the Connecticut Department of Education (DOE). • Experience in school settings is beneficial but not mandatory. • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team. • Flexibility and problem-solving skills to address dynamic student needs.
