Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – In-Person School Contract Opportunity
Location: Bristol, CT
Duration: Immediate start through June 10, 2025 (students begin August 28)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break | 35 hours per week
Assignment at Two Schools: Serving Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students
This contract position offers a rewarding opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support young learners in a school environment. You will play a key role in planning and delivering speech-language therapy services, focusing on areas such as augmentative communication, assistive technology, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and delays in receptive and expressive language development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation assessments to identify student needs and inform therapy plans
- Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives tailored to each student
- Prepare clear, detailed reports following assessments and observations
- Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to discuss student progress and intervention strategies
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible for certification with the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) and a teaching certificate from the Connecticut Department of Education (DOE)
- Previous experience in school settings is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach essential
- Flexibility and problem-solving capabilities to adapt to student and school needs
