A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to cover a maternity leave at an elementary school in Chesapeake, VA. This assignment runs from late September through mid-December and offers the opportunity to support elementary-aged students in a dynamic school environment. The role requires on-site presence five days a week, providing direct speech and language therapy services tailored to the individual needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy to elementary-aged students.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student communication development.
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and school policies.
- Participate in meetings related to student education plans and therapy strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Virginia Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license.
- Experience working with elementary school-age children in a school setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educational teams.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based speech therapy services.
- Availability from September 25 to December 18 to cover the full leave period.
