Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Hammond, IN
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students’ communication growth as a contract speech-language pathologist for the upcoming 26-27 academic year. Beginning August 12, 2026 and concluding May 26, 2027, this role is perfect for professionals eager to work onsite and make meaningful connections with students in a supportive school community.
Two full-time SLP positions are available:
- The first will support one elementary and one middle school building
- The second will cover two middle school buildings
Each has a caseload ranging from 45-55 students, tailored to elementary and/or middle grades depending on the assignment. Enjoy focused responsibilities—educational settings are assigned and onsite, ensuring direct student impact and effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Active and valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license for schools
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Previous experience in a school setting, ideally with elementary or middle school populations
- Ability to manage and prioritize caseload of 45-55 students
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with teachers, parents, and special education teams
- Commitment to providing direct, onsite services throughout the academic year
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy for speech and language disorders
- Develop and update individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with IEP teams
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records
- Consult with staff and families to support student success
- Contribute to building-wide initiatives on communication and language development
- Participate in required school meetings and team conferences
