Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Hammond, IN
Step into a dynamic educational setting as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist supporting elementary and middle school students. This contract opportunity runs from August 12, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Two SLPs will be placed onsite—one serving both an elementary and a middle school, and the other covering two middle school buildings. Caseloads range from 45 to 55 students, offering you the chance to make a significant impact on young learners across multiple grade levels.
Ideal candidates bring expertise in school-based speech-language services, holding current credentials as a certified SLP-CCC. Experience with school-aged populations is highly desired, particularly within elementary and middle school environments.
Qualifications:
- Active state SLP license and ASHA CCC required
- Previous experience in a school setting
- Comfortable managing caseloads of 45-55 students
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver targeted intervention and therapy sessions
- Provide direct services across assigned buildings, maintaining documentation
- Foster communication skills and academic success for students
- Participate in IEP meetings and consult with educators and parents
