A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide services in a K-12 school located in Metairie, LA, with a focus on elementary schools on the west bank. This contract position extends through the current school year, starting as soon as possible and ending on 5/22/26. The role requires working onsite with a caseload of students ranging across the K-12 spectrum, supporting speech and communication development in a school-based setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language pathology evaluation and therapy to students within the school setting, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to design and implement effective communication interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, assessment results, and therapy plans in compliance with school policies.
- Participate in meetings, consultations, and trainings related to student needs and program requirements.
- Manage caseload effectively while adhering to the school calendar and designated work hours.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Louisiana.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in elementary levels.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
Work Details:
- Location: Metairie, LA (onsite)
- Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week; typically 7 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch, Monday through Friday according to the school calendar.
- Contract Duration: Current School Year through May 22, 2026
