Position Overview
A Northern California school district in Grass Valley (95945) is looking for a motivated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their special education team. This role involves providing speech and language therapy to a diverse student population spanning elementary through high school. The SLP will collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to promote students’ communication development and academic success.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct speech and language therapy to students individually and in groups.

Conduct thorough speech and language assessments using both standardized and informal tools.

Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Attend IEP meetings, Student Study Teams (SSTs), and other collaborative meetings.

Keep accurate, timely documentation of evaluations, therapy sessions, progress, and related records.

Consult with classroom teachers and families to support communication goals and classroom accommodations.

Offer training and resources to staff on speech and language topics as needed.

Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), Clinical Fellows, and interns in accordance with district policy and licensing regulations.

Stay updated on best practices, legal guidelines, and advancements in speech-language pathology within schools.
Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field from an accredited institution

Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential or eligibility for credentialing

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows welcome with supervision available

Valid California license from the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board or eligibility

Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education regulations

Ability to manage caseload and maintain compliance with district timelines
