Virtual SLP for Multilingual Learners Michigan School Support
We’re hiring a Virtual SLP for Multilingual Learners to provide culturally responsive services to K–12 students in Michigan. This 1099 contractor role focuses on identifying speech-language disorders in students who are bilingual or learning English as an additional language. The position is ideal for SLPs with a strong understanding of second language acquisition.
Responsibilities:

Deliver virtual therapy for multilingual students.

Conduct evaluations that distinguish between language difference and disorder.

Collaborate with EL staff and interpreters.

Develop linguistically appropriate IEP goals.

Provide consultation to educators about bilingual communication.

Attend eligibility and re-evaluation meetings remotely.

Use dynamic assessment tools when appropriate.
-
Train staff on cultural and linguistic factors affecting speech.
-
Write reports that reflect multilingual considerations.
-
Support families in understanding speech goals and processes.
-
Maintain communication logs with EL specialists.
-
Ensure compliance with MDE bilingual evaluation guidelines.
-
Create culturally inclusive therapy materials.
-
Advocate for equity in service access.
-
Track progress with sensitivity to linguistic diversity.

VOCOVISION Requirements
· Must have a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
· Contractors must provide your their own liability insurance
· Comfortable being an independent contractor (1099)
· Home computer with high internet speed
· Passed basic tech screening
Interview Process:
- 10-15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
- 20-30 minute Virtual Interview with the School District
- Offer is typically within 24-48 hours of the virtual interview
