Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Rock Hall, Maryland
This full-time itinerant Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position offers the unique opportunity to serve a K-12 student population in a picturesque waterfront location in Maryland. With access to local marinas and boats and the option for a weekend trip to Washington, DC, just under two hours away, this role balances professional engagement with enjoyable surroundings. The contract spans the 2025-2026 school year and requires 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations. You will develop accurate diagnoses and implement evidence-based treatment plans, adapting therapies as needed. Providing education and support to students and their families about communication disorders and therapy strategies is essential. Accurate documentation that complies with legal and ethical guidelines must be maintained. Collaboration with healthcare providers and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings are integral to ensuring holistic care.
Qualifications required for this role are a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution and valid Maryland licensure or eligibility for licensure. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP) is mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems is necessary. The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is expected.
