Pediatric School Speech Therapist | Glen Burnie, Maryland
This Travel Speech-Language Pathologist role offers an exciting opportunity to serve K-12 students in a vibrant waterfront community in Glen Burnie, MD. Known for its scenic marinas and boating lifestyle, this location also provides convenient access to a weekend trip to Washington, DC, just under two hours away. This position is a full school-year contract for the 2025-2026 academic year, with a 37.5-hour workweek schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations to develop precise diagnoses.
- Implement evidence-based therapy plans for various speech and language disorders, continually monitoring and adapting treatment strategies.
- Educate students and families about communication disorders and provide guidance to improve daily interaction.
- Maintain detailed documentation of evaluations, ongoing progress, and treatment plans in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support effective patient care.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Maryland state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility for licensure.
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP).
- Demonstrated strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, and therapy for pediatric populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health records.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
