About the Opportunity
Are you a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist who loves working with preschool-aged children? We're seeking a dedicated Part-Time SLP for a maternity leave coverage position in the Deptford, New Jersey area for the full 2025-2026 school year. This unique role offers a balanced and engaging caseload designed for an SLP enthusiastic about early childhood development and collaborative practice.
This is the perfect opportunity for a professional eager to make a significant impact on our youngest learners, supporting their foundational communication skills within both specialized and general education settings.
Key Responsibilities
- 3 Days Per Week: Provide comprehensive speech and language services to Pre-Kindergarten students within special education programs, addressing a diverse range of communication needs through direct therapy, evaluations, and IEP management.
- 2 Days Per Week: Collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists (OTs) to provide integrated push-in services to general education Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. This involves co-treating, supporting communication within classroom routines, and consulting with teachers to foster language-rich environments.
- Conduct evaluations, interpret results, and write compliant reports for IEPs.
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapy plans tailored to the unique developmental needs of preschool children.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for all services rendered.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, special education staff, and other team members to support student success.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid and active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of New Jersey is REQUIRED.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows (CFs) with a passion for early childhood will be considered.
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in a school-based setting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in collaborative push-in models and interdisciplinary teamwork (especially with OTs).
- Strong understanding of the IEP process and early childhood special education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a split caseload effectively.
- A genuine commitment to fostering early communication skills and empowering young students.
