About the Opportunity
Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) seeking a full-time role with diverse young learners? We're actively seeking a dynamic SLP to join our team for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year in the Warren, Michigan area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the foundational communication skills of students, working with both Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten through 6th-grade caseloads. You'll play a crucial role in fostering early language development and supporting academic success in a collaborative school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive speech and language services to a varied caseload primarily consisting of Pre-Kindergarten and K-6th grade students.
- Conduct thorough evaluations, interpret assessment results, and write compliant reports for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapy plans tailored to address a wide range of communication disorders common in early childhood and elementary ages (e.g., articulation, phonology, receptive/expressive language, fluency, voice, social communication).
- Deliver direct and indirect therapy services in individual, small group, and classroom-based settings.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, special education staff, and other school personnel to integrate communication goals into daily learning and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and IEPs, adhering to district and state guidelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insights and recommendations for student success.
- Adapt therapy activities and strategies to suit the developmental stages, learning styles, and diverse needs of preschool and elementary-aged students.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid and active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of Michigan is REQUIRED.
- Michigan Teaching Certificate is highly preferred, or willingness to obtain one as per Michigan Department of Education requirements for school-based SLPs.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows (CFYs) will be considered and may be provided with supervision.
- Prior experience working with Pre-Kindergarten and elementary-aged student populations in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the IEP process, special education law, and school-based service delivery models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A genuine commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments and empowering students to reach their full communication potential.
