This full-time, contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position supports elementary school students within a large, well-established district in the Plano, TX area. The role is ideal for experienced SLPs holding an active state license, preferably with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC), to provide specialized services across multiple campuses.

Position details:

  • Location: Elementary schools in the Plano area, including Independence Elementary (PreK-3rd, 53 students), Old Settlers Elementary (K-5th, 40 students), and Southridge Elementary (K-5th, 8 students)
  • Duration: Current school year contract aligned with maternity leave coverage
  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, onsite only
  • Caseload: Two full-time openings covering maternity leaves; one starting ASAP through January with potential extension, the second from January through early April
  • Schedule: Includes occasional half-days at additional campuses to meet program needs

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for elementary students
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in line with district guidelines
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district policies
  • Adhere to professional standards and confidentiality requirements

Qualifications and experience:

  • Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist required
  • Preference for SLPs with ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Candidates completing clinical fellowship (CF) must have external supervision arranged prior to start; district supervision is unavailable
  • Previous experience working with children in school settings highly valued
  • Willingness and ability to travel between multiple campuses within the district
