School-Based Speech Language Pathologist - Fort Pierce, Florida
Play a vital role in empowering K-8 students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) within a collaborative and professional school environment. Opportunities are available for both part-time and full-time contract positions, with flexible scheduling to fit your preferences—positions can be combined to create a full-time role if desired. Immediate openings are available with assignments lasting through June 1, 2027.
You’ll support students at one or two campuses in the dynamic Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce area, serving diverse age groups such as 4th–8th grade or K-8, and working alongside seasoned professionals or independently, depending on the assignment. Each school offers a unique setting, whether you thrive as part of a team or prefer a more independent caseload.
Qualifications and Skills
- Active Florida SLP license required
- Prior experience in school-based speech therapy preferred
- Ability to quickly complete district fingerprinting and credentialing (AHCA transfer eligible if applicable)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Passion for supporting student growth and development
- Comfort adapting to different school environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language therapy to students in grades PK–8th at assigned campus(es)
- Develop and implement IEPs, conduct evaluations, and maintain thorough documentation
- Work directly with K-8 students, including those in resource therapy and traditional classroom settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure student success
- Participate in team meetings or serve as the primary SLP onsite as needed
