Position Overview
A progressive school district in Federal Way, Washington, is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to students with a range of speech, language, and communication disorders. This position emphasizes collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to foster student growth and academic success.
Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify student needs and eligibility for services.

Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment data and student goals.

Provide direct speech-language therapy in individual and group settings.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate communication goals into classroom activities.

Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports, assessment summaries, and IEP documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional expertise to develop measurable goals and strategies.

Offer training and consultation to school staff on effective communication supports and interventions.

Keep up to date with current research, best practices, and legal requirements related to speech-language pathology services in educational settings.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Valid Washington State license or eligibility to obtain licensure.

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.

Experience in school-based speech-language pathology preferred.

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and other relevant special education laws.

Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a caseload efficiently.
