Speech Language Pathologist in Farmer City, IL
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the upcoming 26/27 academic year. This rewarding contract opportunity lets you support approximately 40 PreK and kindergarten students, helping them find their voices and build confidence in a supportive educational setting. You'll work full-time, 35 hours across five days each week, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families to ensure every child reaches their communication goals.
Your expertise will be essential in delivering both individualized and small-group therapy, conducting assessments, and contributing to the development of educational plans tailored to each student's unique needs. The role offers you the chance to help students develop vital communication skills right at the foundation of their educational journeys.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois SLP license and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Eligible for or holding Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status
- Familiarity with school-based caseloads, IEP documentation, and best practices for early childhood
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for working with young children
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to PreK and kindergarten students
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and create individualized treatment plans
- Develop and maintain IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff
- Document progress and participate in meetings as needed
