School Speech Pathology | Fairfax, Virginia
Provide specialized speech-language pathology services in a K-12 school setting supporting elementary and middle school students in the Fairfax, VA area. This full-time (37.5 hours/week) contract position spans the current school year from ASAP through May 29, 2026, with potential part-time opportunities for candidates available at a minimum of 20 hours per week. Assignments typically involve working onsite exclusively, serving no more than two schools per clinician, with caseloads capped at 55 students, usually about 50.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy to students in grades K-12, focusing on elementary and middle school populations.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and support multidisciplinary approaches to student success.
- Provide supervision for Clinical Fellowship candidates if applicable.
Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) is required; Clinical Fellows are welcome with supervision provided.
- Active Virginia SLP licensure.
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology preferred but not required.
- Ability to work onsite only; no hybrid or remote options available.
- Commitment to maintaining caseload limitations and supporting diverse student needs.
