A school-based speech-language pathologist position is available in the Denver, CO area supporting Pre K–6th grade students with mild to severe speech and language needs. The role is based at an elementary school serving a caseload of approximately 40 students, with a bilingual English/Spanish requirement. This full-time, contracted opportunity offers the chance to work within a smaller northern Denver district known for its welcoming environment to both new graduates and experienced clinicians.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language evaluations and providing direct therapy services.
- Maintaining service documentation and progress notes.
- Managing caseloads including IEP case management when speech is the only service.
- Delivering monthly speech therapy minutes following IEP requirements.
- Collaborating with school teams and families to support student communication goals.
Qualifications and experience:
- Current or in-process Colorado Department of Education (CDE) licensure as an SLP or SLP Clinical Fellow is required. Candidates must disclose their licensure status or progress.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory.
- Candidates who are Clinical Fellows will receive district-provided supervision.
- SLP Assistants (SLPAs) and hybrid or VOCO licensures are not accepted.
- The district does not hire nurses.
- Availability for a two-step interview process: an initial 15-30 minute screening via Teams and a 30-45 minute panel interview, preferably in-person but flexible.
