Speech Language Pathologist in Des Plaines, IL
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity is available at a middle school in Des Plaines, IL, offering a supportive educational environment for professionals dedicated to student speech and language development. This contract position requires commitment to a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch break.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders for a caseload of 42-50 middle school students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, parents, and other specialists.
- Use evidence-based practices to improve students’ communication skills and academic performance.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology or completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- Experience or credentialing specific to school-based speech-language pathology.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language assessment and intervention techniques tailored for school-aged children.
- Ability to manage a large caseload effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
