Speech Therapist in Elgin, IL
This full-time contract position is for a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist proficient in English and Spanish, serving K-12 students in a diverse school district located in Elgin, IL. The assignment runs from ASAP until May 20, 2026, requiring on-site presence with no virtual or remote options available.
Responsibilities include providing speech and language evaluations and therapy services at various early childhood and elementary school locations. Assignments typically cover multiple school sites to comprise a full-time caseload of 37.5 hours per week. Caseloads may vary and include itinerant evaluation duties, with total Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) allocations distributed across several schools such as IL Park, Independence, Timber Trails Elementary, and itinerant evaluation sites. Clinical Fellows (CFs) are welcome to apply provided supervision can be arranged.
Key qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License with an SLP endorsement
- Illinois Speech Language Pathologist license
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Experience working in school settings K-12 preferred
- Ability to manage caseloads across multiple school sites
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and hearing evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student success
