Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Full-Time, Self-Contained Program
Location: Cary, Illinois
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Start Date: August 20th
Caseload: Small caseload of 12-15 students (mostly 6th-8th grade, may include some elementary) within a self-contained program for students with Autism and developmental disabilities.
We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Cary, IL. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work within a specialized self-contained program, providing essential communication support to students with Autism and developmental disabilities. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate expressive and receptive language skills, as well as social pragmatics.

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique communication needs.

Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, both verbal and non-verbal, within individual and small group settings.

Expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices (e.g., TouchChat) is essential, as many students utilize these tools.

Collaborate closely with special education teachers, support staff, and parents to integrate communication goals across the curriculum and home environment.

Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust therapy plans to ensure optimal outcomes.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Current and active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license.

Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsed for Speech and Language Pathologist (Teaching or Non-Teaching) preferred.

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply.

Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities.

Proficiency in assessing and treating expressive/receptive language and social pragmatic deficits.

Demonstrated experience with AAC devices and strategies for non-verbal students.

Strong collaborative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
