About the Opportunity
Are you a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist ready to make a significant impact on young learners? We're seeking a dedicated, full-time SLP to join our team for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year in the Cassopolis, Michigan area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work primarily with PreK-5th grade students, fostering their communication development and supporting their early academic success within a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive speech and language services to a PreK-5th grade caseload of approximately 40-45 students.
- Conduct thorough evaluations, interpret results, and write compliant reports for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapy plans addressing a wide range of communication disorders common in early childhood (e.g., articulation, phonology, receptive/expressive language, fluency, social communication).
- Deliver direct and indirect therapy services in individual, small group, and classroom-based settings.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, special education staff, and other school personnel to integrate communication goals into daily learning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Adapt therapy activities and strategies to suit the developmental stages and diverse needs of elementary-aged students.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid and active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of Michigan is REQUIRED.
- Michigan Teaching Certificate is highly preferred, or willingness to obtain one as per Michigan Department of Education requirements for school-based SLPs.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows (CFYs) will be considered and may be provided with supervision.
- Prior experience working with PreK-5th grade student populations in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the IEP process, special education law, and school-based service delivery models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A genuine commitment to fostering early communication skills and empowering students.
