School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Edison, New Jersey
Make a difference in the lives of students this fall by supporting speech and language development in a dynamic elementary school setting. Two contract speech-language pathologists are needed for full-time maternity leave coverage starting September 2026 for approximately 12 weeks. Working full days across 35+ hours weekly, you'll have the opportunity to positively impact young learners with diverse communication needs, including those in high Autism and preschool populations (K-5).
Features of the position:
- Full-time, onsite role beginning Fall 2026 (September start date), lasting 12 weeks
- Elementary school-focused caseloads with strong Autism and early childhood components
- Service delivery at two campuses, supporting both Sewaren and Iselin; willingness to travel between schools is preferred
- Open to Clinical Fellows who can secure outside supervision; ASHA CCCs highly prioritized
- No SLPAs—fully licensed SLPs only
- Assignment at a third campus possible as needs arise
Preferred qualifications:
- Active New Jersey Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Current New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but Clinical Fellows (CFs) will be considered
- Demonstrated skills serving school-aged children, especially with Autism Spectrum Disorder and early learners
- Willingness to work onsite only and travel between elementary campuses
Responsibilities include evaluating and treating elementary students, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, developing and implementing IEPs, and maintaining thorough documentation.
