Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Detroit, MI
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic school environment near Detroit, MI. This role begins ASAP and runs through June 10, 2027, offering the chance to make a significant impact throughout multiple school years. Multiple positions are available to serve diverse student populations—including elementary caseloads across various buildings, as well as a specialized FCIS (Functional Classroom for Intensive Support) opening.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with current CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
- Active state licensure to practice as an SLP in Michigan
- Previous K-12 experience preferred, with strong ability to manage large caseloads
- Comfortable traveling between multiple school buildings, depending on assignment
- Skilled in developing IEPs, delivering direct therapy, and collaborating with school teams
- Genuine passion for nurturing communication development in young learners
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 47-50 elementary students or work within a FCIS setting
- Provide direct speech-language therapy, both individually and in groups
- Conduct student evaluations, monitor progress, and participate in eligibility determinations
- Create engaging intervention plans, adapting strategies for diverse learning needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special educators, and families to drive student success
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings across multiple sites if assigned to a multi-building caseload
