Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a caring educational environment. This contract position offers the exciting opportunity to work onsite with a dedicated caseload of 40-55 students in the Detroit, MI area for the 2026–2027 school year. You’ll collaborate with a supportive team, contributing your expertise to help students communicate more effectively and thrive academically and socially.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license for the state of Michigan
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is required
- Previous experience working in school-based or ASD settings is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to plan engaging, individualized therapy sessions
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to students in an Autism program
- Develop, implement, and track progress on IEP goals tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote communication strategies throughout the school day
- Assess, document, and report on student progress using data-driven practices
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
- Stay current with best practices, continuing education, and state licensure requirements
