Hiring: K12 Speech-Language Pathologist Job Empower Student Voices | Detroit Public Schools
Detroit Public Schools Community District is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in reaching their full communicative potential. Role Overview:
The SLP will provide a blend of evaluations, individualized therapy, and collaborative support to address speech, language, and social communication needs for students across general and special education settings.
Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive speech/language evaluations and write detailed reports

Implement individualized treatment aligned with IEP goals
-
Support both direct and consultative models of service delivery

Collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists
-
Maintain documentation and participate in IEP meetings
-
Address needs such as articulation, receptive/expressive language, fluency, and pragmatic language
Qualifications:
-
Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology
-
Current Michigan SLP license + Michigan Teaching Certificate with SLP endorsement
-
ASHA CCC preferred, but not required
-
School-based experience preferred
-
Clear communication, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset
Job Logistics:

Schedule: Monday–Friday during school hours

Caseload: K–12 students, assigned based on district needs
