School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Des Plaines, Illinois
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) for the upcoming school term. Two positions are available, each offering a chance to make a direct impact on student communication skills in a supportive educational environment.
Position 1: Located in Lake in the Hills, you'll work with a caseload of 16 students over approximately 15 hours per week.
Position 2: Based in Morton Grove, this assignment focuses on 9 students, with a workweek ranging from 5 to 7 hours.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA
- Valid state licensure for SLP practice in Illinois
- Previous experience providing speech therapy in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt therapeutic approaches to diverse needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct and indirect therapy services in accordance with student IEPs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student progress
- Document student performance, maintain therapy records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Utilize evidence-based interventions to foster communication, comprehension, and language development
