A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available within a self-contained Special Education (SPED) program serving students aged 3 to 22. This contract-based position is located in Des Plaines, Illinois, and focuses on delivering specialized speech-language services in a school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech-language therapy to a caseload of 18 students with diverse communication needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique goals.
- Collaborate closely with special education teams, parents, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.
- Utilize expertise in teletherapy as needed to supplement in-person services.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with educational and healthcare standards.
- Support students within a self-contained SPED program, addressing communication challenges associated with various disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or eligibility.
- Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology within school and healthcare environments.
- Knowledge and skills in teletherapy methods.
- Eligibility for or completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of diverse speech and language disorders.
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload of students with varying communication needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work within multidisciplinary teams.
