School Speech Language Pathologist - Des Plaines, Illinois
A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in the Des Plaines, IL area, with opportunities in surrounding communities such as Beach Park, Waukegan, and Grayslake. This contract role supports students from Kindergarten through 8th grade and offers approximately 30 hours per week, with a start date as soon as possible through May 29, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to students grades K-8
- Assess and evaluate communication disorders, developing individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of communication goals
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois State License in Speech-Language Pathology
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
