Speech Therapist in Des Plaines, IL
A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support K-12 students within a dynamic educational environment. This contract position is located in Des Plaines, IL, serving students throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience providing speech and language therapy services to children in grades K-12
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a range of communication disorders
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside educators, parents, and other related service providers
- Effective documentation and compliance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and state regulations
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify student needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans targeting specific communication goals
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Participate in team meetings including IEP development and review
- Provide consultative support to teachers and parents to promote carryover of skills in classroom and home settings
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state guidelines
