ASL-Fluent Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Orange County Superintendent of Schools | Irvine, CA
Location: Irvine, California (Onsite)
Contract Dates: August 19, 2025 – September 30, 2025 (Possibility to extend)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Program: Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Program – Irvine Campus
Positions Available: 1 (Temporary with potential for extension)
About the Role:
The Orange County Superintendent of Schools is seeking a highly qualified and ASL-fluent Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide temporary support in their Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program at the Irvine campus. This onsite position is for approximately 6 weeks with the possibility to extend into a year-long assignment depending on fit and district needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver speech-language therapy services to students enrolled in the DHH program

Utilize American Sign Language fluently to support effective communication with students

Conduct assessments, develop, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Collaborate with teachers, audiologists, and other professionals to support student success

Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings

Provide culturally competent services tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Active California SLP license
-
Valid California Education Credential (Required)

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) – must be demonstrated

Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students preferred

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work onsite full-time (35 hours per week) at Irvine campus
