This contract position involves working full-time (37.5 hours per week) from August 2026 through May 2027, offering direct speech therapy services to students and collaborating closely with educational staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person speech-language pathology services tailored to individual student needs.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing professional insights.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and screenings to assess communication skills.
- Develop and document present levels of performance and measurable annual goals.
- Utilize the Exceptional Children Accountability and Tracking System (ECATS) for progress reporting and case management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold an active North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) SLP license.
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with ECATS system.
- Previous experience in school-based speech therapy strongly desired.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with school personnel and families.
Location: Services will be provided at multiple schools within the district including Albemarle Middle School, Norwood Elementary, and Richfield Elementary.
