About This Remote Opportunity
This SLP position serves students in kindergarten through 5th grade, working approximately 36-37.5 hours per week. Your caseload will include 48-58 students requiring speech and language support across various areas: articulation and phonological processes, expressive and receptive language development, social communication and pragmatic skills, fluency and stuttering, and voice disorders. You'll use creative teletherapy techniques to engage young students in meaningful activities that build their communication competence and confidence!
What Your Day Looks Like
Your responsibilities encompass the full scope of school-based speech language pathology services delivered virtually. You'll conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized tests, language samples, and informal assessments to identify communication disorders. You'll write evaluation reports that clearly explain findings and provide actionable recommendations for educational teams and families. Developing engaging IEP goals that target functional communication skills is central to your role. You'll provide direct therapy through individual and small group teletherapy sessions using interactive digital materials and games. Progress monitoring through data collection and analysis informs your ongoing treatment decisions. Collaboration is key—you'll consult with classroom teachers about supporting communication in academic contexts, meet virtually with families to discuss progress and home practice, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings. Documentation of services and maintaining compliance with IEP requirements rounds out your professional responsibilities.
Credentials and Experience Required
Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) / Active Ohio Speech Language Pathologist license / Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders / At least 2 years of experience working in school environments / Strong foundation in pediatric speech and language development / Experience with telepractice or willingness to adapt traditional therapy approaches for virtual delivery / Proficiency with technology platforms used in teletherapy / Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration with teams and families.
Technical Requirements for Success
You'll need dedicated workspace appropriate for conducting therapy sessions, reliable high-speed internet service, computer with quality webcam and microphone, and comfort using video conferencing platforms and digital therapy materials.
