School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Cicero, Illinois
Step into an exciting opportunity supporting students’ communication and learning as an on-site speech-language pathologist for the upcoming academic year near Cicero, IL. This contract role runs from mid-August to late May, working closely with a district serving early childhood through 8th grade. You’ll be part of a two-person team managing a caseload of 70 students, split for balanced workloads—one full-time SLP and one part-time, providing focused, collaborative services.
Your expertise in school-based speech-language pathology will be key as you assess, develop, and implement intervention plans that make a tangible difference in students’ academic and social development. Strictly on-site (remote work is not an option), you’ll thrive in a dynamic school environment, engaging directly with students, educators, and families.
Key qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Speech-Language Pathologist licensure from IDFPR
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- School-based SLP experience preferred
- Ability to organize and manage a diverse caseload across multiple grades
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to follow union requirements and district protocols
Core responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for speech and language difficulties
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and targeted therapy interventions
- Deliver direct speech-language services aligned with district, state, and federal standards
- Maintain timely documentation and progress tracking
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Communicate clearly with families regarding student goals and progress
- Contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment
