A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support a special education program serving students aged 18 to 22 who require additional assistance to develop independent living skills. This role focuses on transition programming aimed at helping young adults successfully integrate into their communities.
Location: Cicero, IL (Elementary School Setting)
Duration: August 18, 2025 – June 2, 2026
Schedule: 35 hours per week, in-person only
Contract: School Year
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language therapy tailored to transition-aged students within the special education cooperative.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective communication goals.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to meet evolving needs.
- Support students in developing functional communication skills that enhance independence in daily activities and community participation.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license (IL license required)
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- SLP certification (CCC) preferred
- Experience working with transition-aged students or within special education settings is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively in-person throughout the school year
