This contract position is for a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) serving in a therapeutic center located near Chicago, IL. The role is designed to cover an FMLA leave for the remainder of the school year, providing specialized support within a special education cooperative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations for students referred for speech and language assessments.
- Manage a small caseload of approximately 9-10 early childhood (EC) students, servicing them twice weekly in the afternoon.
- Allocate scheduled time for detailed report writing and documentation of student progress.
- Participate in meetings related to student care and educational planning.
- Provide in-person, hands-on services; virtual service delivery is not an option.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology certification and licensure.
- Experience working in educational or therapeutic settings, particularly with early childhood special education populations.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and reporting skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in meetings.
- Commitment to delivering in-person clinical services, especially in a therapeutic center environment.
Location:
- Burbank, Illinois, within a Therapeutic Center part of the Special Education Cooperative serving the local school district.
