High School Speech Language Pathologist in Joliet, IL
An engaging opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in serving high school students. This part-time contract position offers a schedule of three days per week, providing the flexibility to make a meaningful impact over the course of the contract school year. Located in Joliet, IL, this role focuses on delivering specialized speech-language therapy to students with diverse communication needs in a high school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver comprehensive speech-language therapy addressing assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language development.
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing tailored to student needs.
- Prepare clear, detailed reports based on assessments and observations.
- Work effectively with students aged 2 to 22, including those with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives.
- Collaborate and communicate with parents, teachers, and support staff to monitor progress and identify necessary interventions.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible to hold an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Preferably 1 to 2 years of experience as an SLP in a school setting.
- Strong communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility and problem-solving aptitude to address diverse student needs.
