Speech Language Pathologist in Joliet, IL
Providing specialized speech-language services within a K-12 educational setting, this contract opportunity supports maternity leave coverages across multiple schools serving students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. - Holmes Primary School in Clarendon Hills, IL (4 classrooms)
- Anne M Jeans Elementary School in Willowbrook, IL (2 classrooms)
- Kingsley Elementary in Downers Grove, IL (1 classroom)
- Westmont Jr. High in Westmont, IL (2 classrooms)
Positions start between late January and February 2026 and conclude by early June 2026, corresponding with the remainder of the school year. Typical work hours are full-time (35 to 37.5 hours per week), with caseloads spanning 3-4 classrooms. Each classroom includes approximately 6-8 students requiring tailored speech-language interventions within the Structured Learning Environment (SLE) program.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Endorsement
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology License
- Candidates holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred but new clinicians (SLP CFYs) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) with appropriate licensure are encouraged to apply
- Experience or interest in working with children with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities desired
- Availability to work on-site; virtual work is not offered
Responsibilities include conducting speech and language assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, collaborating with educators and families, and providing direct therapy to students within the SLE classrooms.
