Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Duties

  • Conduct speech and language assessments for students with communication disorders

  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs

  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to support student progress

  • Monitor and document student performance, adjusting interventions as needed

  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations

  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements

Federal and State Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

  • Current Illinois SLP license or eligibility required

  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Illinois school districts
