What You'll Do
In your role as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll be responsible for evaluating and treating students with speech, language, and communication challenges that impact their educational progress. This includes conducting assessments, writing and implementing IEP goals, delivering therapy services, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing support and consultation to educators and families. Your impact will be felt daily as you help students strengthen their communication skills and self-confidence.
What You'll Need (Illinois Requirements)
SLPs in Illinois must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology. In addition, you must hold a license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required. Clinical Fellows may be considered and supported, but CCC-SLP is preferred.
