Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Part-time, Contract
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our school district on a part-time basis. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services to students with communication disorders, speech impairments, and language delays. This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals for students based on their specific needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions, targeting speech and language skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to develop strategies and interventions that support students' communication needs.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate and support parents and caregivers on strategies to enhance communication skills at home.
- Stay up-to-date with current research, techniques, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on students' goals and progress.
- Maintain accurate and organized records, including session notes, progress reports, and evaluation reports.
- Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines outlined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing board.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children with a variety of communication disorders.
- Knowledge of various assessment tools and intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
