Job Overview
This is a full-time, school-based travel role with a Charlotte-area district. You’ll provide direct therapy services, collaborate with families, teachers, and administrators, and help students reach their communication goals. Assignments typically follow the academic calendar, with the possibility of extension or reassignment at the end of the term.
What Does a Travel Contract Mean?
Travel SLP contracts are temporary assignments, usually lasting a semester or full academic year. These roles allow you to bring your skills to districts needing support, while enjoying non-taxed housing and meals/incidental stipends, competitive pay, and the chance to live somewhere new. Contracts may be extended or renewed, and when one ends, you can select a different location for your next assignment.
Responsibilities

Conduct evaluations for speech, language, and communication needs per district guidelines

Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to each student

Deliver therapy in individual and group settings

Monitor student progress and maintain timely and accurate documentation

Collaborate with teachers and parents to enhance communication outcomes

Participate in IEP meetings and team planning sessions
Requirements

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

North Carolina SLP licensure (or eligibility prior to start)

CCC-SLP preferred; CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) candidates welcome

Experience in school-based or pediatric settings is a plus

Excellent organizational and communication skills
