Travel Speech and Language Pathologist in Carteret, NJ
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized support in a school setting located in Carteret, NJ. This travel position focuses on delivering expert care to students with diverse communication needs, including those with multiple disabilities housed in a grade 5/6 building. The role involves supporting self-contained students from grades 3 through 8 and spans two maternity leave assignments: April 27 to June 24 and September 3 to November 20.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in school-aged children.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to students’ unique challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and school staff to support each student's educational goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies and IDEA regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized education program (IEP) development.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
- Experience working with pediatric populations in school and healthcare environments.
- Knowledge of speech and language interventions for students with multiple disabilities.
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse learner needs in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to different assignment locations as required.
Position Details:
- Location: Carteret, New Jersey
- Schedule: School day from 8:30 AM to 2:55 PM
- Assignment: Maternity leave coverage with two specific timeframes (April 27 to June 24 and September 3 to November 20)
- Students served: Grades 3-8, primarily in grades 5/6 building, including self-contained students with multiple disabilities
