Pediatric School Speech and Language Pathologist | Canandaigua, New York
This position seeks a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential speech and language services to students in grades K-2 at an elementary school setting. The role is onsite in Canandaigua, NY, for the 2025-2026 school year, with an expected start date as soon as possible through February 6, 2026.
The Speech Language Pathologist will support students with mild to moderate disabilities, addressing their communication needs and collaborating with educators to enhance student learning and development. This contract requires 37.5 hours weekly during the school year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing individualized speech and language therapy to K-2 students
- Assessing and monitoring student progress to guide intervention strategies
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success
- Maintaining thorough and timely documentation to meet regulatory and educational standards
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs)
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Speech Language Pathologist License
- Active TSSLD (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disability) Certification
- Experience working with pediatric populations in schools or healthcare settings
- Proficiency in teletherapy is advantageous but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within an educational team
